$32,000 to be Awarded to Local Area Schools: Earning for Learning turns money spent at The Mall at Fairfield Commons into cash prizes for local schools
Beavercreek, OH (August 8, 2011) – Mall at Fairfield Commons officials announced today that for the ninth year in a row, the mall will award $32,000 to local area schools this fall. The Mall at Fairfield Commons drives its commitment to children’s education through Earning for Learning, formerly known as Tools for Your School, a partnership program designed to promote and support education in local school districts. Earning for Learning encourages local residents to shop at the Mall at Fairfield Commons over a six-week promotional period and enter for the chance to win cash prizes for themselves and for the school of their choice.
We are very excited to promote this program each year and once again have the ability to give back to schools in the community,” said Kristie Miller, Marketing Director for the Mall at Fairfield Commons. “The cash for the top winning schools helps make it possible for them to afford the equipment they might not otherwise be able to provide their students or allows them to recognize student achievements."
Now through September 18, each receipt that customers turn in each week acts as an entry form for the school of their choice. Shoppers simply bring their receipts to Guest Services in the mall and designate the school of their choice.
The Mall at Fairfield Commons will keep a tally board updated weekly at the mall with a running total of each school’s standings. During the six week Earning for Learning campaign, six schools will be awarded cash prizes of $3,500, $5,500, $4,000, $5,000, $6,500 and $7,500 respectively. Shoppers have until September 18, 2011 to turn in their receipts at the Mall at Fairfield Commons.
Last year, over 670 receipts were turned in for Dayton area schools. Baker Middle School, last year’s grand prize winner, was awarded $7,500.
Every school in the Dayton area is eligible to participate in the contest and is not required to sign-up. The Mall at Fairfield Commons encourages residents to show their school spirit by participating in the Earning for Learning program and turn their shopping dollars into money for local schools.
